Key Features & Performance
Why are top-tier Western brands transitioning to Silicone Leather?
Zero Peeling (Hydrolysis Resistance)
Unlike PU, silicone remains stable in humid environments and will not crack, flake, or peel over time.
Permanent Stain Resistance
Coffee, wine, ink, and even blood can be easily removed without special cleaners or surface treatments.
Extreme Weathering (UV & Salt)
Maintains color, flexibility, and appearance even under prolonged outdoor and marine exposure.
Medical-Grade Safety
Resists harsh disinfectants while remaining solvent-free, low-odor, and environmentally responsible.

Fabrication Guidelines for Silicone Leather
Working with Silicone Leather requires understanding its unique non-stick properties. Follow these manufacturing guidelines:
Cutting
Compatible with CNC cutting, die-cutting, and rotary blade systems. The material cuts cleanly without edge fraying, reducing waste and improving production efficiency.
Sewing
Needles: Use sharp, fine-point leather needles (e.g., Size 16 or 18) to prevent large puncture holes.
Foot: Use a Teflon or roller sewing machine foot. A Teflon or roller foot may improve feeding consistency when sewing silicone-coated surfaces, standard metal presser feet may drag and stretch the fabric.
Bonding & Lamination Considerations
The Pain Point: Silicone is inherently non-stick. Standard contact cements, PU glues, and woodworking adhesives will not stick to the silicone surface.
Our Solution: Standard PU adhesives or contact cements won’t work on the silicone side because of its low surface energy. For silicone-to-silicone or substrate bonding, you’ll need RTV silicone or specialty LSE tapes.
Note: Gluing the fabric backing side (Polyester/Microfiber) to foam or wood is perfectly fine with standard upholstery spray adhesives.

Customer Case Study
Client: A Luxury Yacht Manufacturer in Florida, USA.
The Pain Point: Their outdoor marine cushions, upholstered in high-grade Marine PVC, were yellowing and cracking after 3 years under the intense Florida sun. Sunscreen lotions from passengers were chemically degrading the vinyl surface, leading to warranty claims.
The Solution: Transitioned to our 1.0mm Polyester-Backed Silicone Leather.
The Outcome:
Zero Sunscreen Degradation: Silicone is chemically inert to the oils and chemicals in sunscreens and tanning lotions.
Pristine White Color: Passed 1,500 hours of accelerated UV testing with absolutely no yellowing.
Customer satisfaction skyrocketed, allowing the yacht builder to extend their upholstery warranty from 2 years to 5 years.
FAQ – Troubleshooting
A: Yes, 100%. Our silicone leather contains absolutely no animal products or by-products. Furthermore, unlike other “vegan leathers” (which are often just greenwashed PVC plastics), our silicone leather is free of toxic plasticizers and highly sustainable.
A: Because silicone has ultra-low surface tension, ink cannot penetrate the polymer. Simply wipe the ink away with a damp cloth. For stubborn permanent markers, a gentle wipe with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol will lift the mark instantly without damaging the material. No heavy scrubbing required.
A: While silicone itself is waterproof, it has much better thermal conductivity than PVC. It does not trap heat as aggressively, providing a cooler, more comfortable seating experience, especially when paired with a breathable microfiber backing.
A: We stock standard colors (White, Black, Beige, Navy) with low MOQs of 50 meters. For custom Pantone color matching or custom embossed textures (e.g., Litchi grain, Nappa texture), the MOQ is typically 500 meters per color.
A: The soft, rubbery grip of pure silicone can stick to metal presser feet. You must equip your sewing machines with Teflon-coated feet or walking feet (roller feed) to ensure smooth, even stitching without puckering the material.
A: Absolutely not. Unlike PVC or PU, which rely on plasticizers that eventually migrate and cause the material to become brittle or sticky, silicone is inherently UV-stable. Its molecular structure (PDMS) remains stable in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 200°C (-40°F to 392°F). In accelerated weathering tests (1,500+ hours of Xenon arc exposure), our silicone leather showed zero yellowing, zero cracking, and no change in hand-feel, making it the gold standard for outdoor marine and automotive environments.
A: While the initial price per meter is higher than mid-grade PU, Silicone Leather offers a much lower Total Cost of Ownership. Traditional PU fabrics often suffer from hydrolysis (peeling) within 2-4 years, leading to expensive reupholstery costs and warranty claims. With a 10+ year lifespan and near-zero maintenance (no specialized conditioners required), Silicone Leather drastically reduces after-sales liabilities. For luxury brands and commercial projects, it is a strategic investment that protects your brand’s reputation for durability.
A: Yes. Our silicone leather is biocompatible and non-irritating, passing strict ISO 10993 cytotoxicity and skin irritation standards. It is engineered to withstand “hospital-grade” cleaning protocols. It is highly resistant to 70% Isopropyl Alcohol, 1:10 Bleach solutions, and Quaternary Ammonium disinfectants. Unlike vinyl, which can harden and crack after repeated chemical exposure, our silicone surface maintains its integrity and color fastness, making it the ideal solution for high-traffic healthcare environments.
